Wyvern Rising Players,

As we’ve said earlier this year, the Wyvern Rising Directors and Staff members have been monitoring developments regarding the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, and frequently re-assessing Wyvern Rising’s response to it. After careful consideration surrounding numerous factors, it is with a heavy heart that we are announcing the cancellation of Wyvern Rising Season 18 Event 3, October 15th-17th.

We know this is disappointing for all of you, and it is very disappointing for us as well. The fall weather, the Last Harvest, and the exciting finale are all reasons that we all love the October event every year. But given the current trend of the pandemic, and our own assessment of Wyvern Rising’s group safety, this is our determination.

Now, the silver linings. We know a lot of players look forward to their Off-Season AAR (aka Winter AAR), because they can go further and do more in Feragothe (or Merdensa!), and because they get extra crafting time.  Well, the world of Wyvern Rising continues to spin, and anyone who attended any of Season 18’s first two events is eligible to submit their Winter AAR by Thanksgiving.Your Winter AAR covers the time period between October and April, giving you enough time to get practically anywhere in the known world of Wyvern Rising and back to Corsotha. Because the duration is longer your “AAR Action” can be a bit more involved, but please do still try to keep it simple when possible. This Winter Crafting AAR will allot you 21 crafting hours, and can be submitted via the normal crafting AAR form.

You’ll still be getting your AAR responses from Event 2 if you haven’t yet, so keep an eye on your inboxes.

Staff will also be working on other ways for everyone to stay engaged with Wyvern Rising and each other. Keep your eye on our Discord/Facebook/Website for upcoming announcements!

We love everyone in the Wyvern Rising community like family and that’s ultimately what led us to this decision. Everyone’s safety and comfort is much more important to us than producing an event in a potentially dangerous situation. We promise that staff is going to work hard in the off-season to provide virtual content for you, and work hard so that we can come back with a fun, engaging, and safe Season 19. We hope to see you then.
